WHAT YOU POST on the Web could make you a best-selling author as more publishers are surfing the internet for fresh talent.
Diane Chan Shuk-kam, a freelance illustrator, set up a website in 1998. Her site, which features colourful illustrations and short essays about relationships and the little things in life, had as many as 7,000 hits a day.
The popularity of her website has attracted the interest of at least eight publishers over the years. Her debut book, 50 Girly Secrets Every Guy Should Know, published six months ago by BMA Publication, is in its sixth edition.
'I never expected to become popular or set myself any targets,' said Chan, who is known to her fans on the internet as Princess Diane.
'But since the book is quite popular, I would like to become a full-time writer.'
She is working on her second book, another collection of drawings and essays. The book will be published later this year.
