Those expressing positive views on the Macau government dropped 30 percentage points from last November to 36 per cent last month, the public opinion programme of the University of Hong Kong poll found. The negative rating rose nine points to 12 per cent.

The positive perception level was substantially lower than the 53 per cent for the Hong Kong government.

Negative feelings towards the Hong Kong administration eased three points to 7 per cent over the past six months.

The Macau government used to be more popular than Hong Kong's, with positive ratings ranging from 57 to 68 per cent between November 2004 and last November. Hong Kong's figures fluctuated between 27 and 59 per cent.
