A leading European financial services group with more than 120,000 employees worldwide is looking to boost its brand awareness in China.
A corporate communications manager, head of China, is sought to develop corporate image building strategies to enhance brand awareness.
'If you are media savvy and want to be in the forefront of the organisation, this is the place to be,' said Thavy Chea, a consultant with Robert Walters which is handling the confidential search. She described her client as active in three core areas: retail banking, global investment management services (asset management), and corporate and investment banking.
The job is based in Beijing and is perfect for someone with eight to 10 years of financial services experience and established media contacts in the mainland. Experience in strategic communications, media relations and public relations is of the utmost importance.
Working closely with the head of corporate communications for Asia-Pacific, the appointee will concentrate on developing the bank's media presence to meet business lines' strategies, and on proposing and implementing corporate communication plans so as to better leverage the business lines' own plans. The appointee must ensure that brand consistency is maintained across all communication channels.
'The role is very hands on and needs someone that is highly motivated and disciplined,' Ms Chea said, adding that a truly entrepreneurial person would succeed.
