Queen's steal the limelight
QUEEN'S College dominated overwhelmingly the recent inter-school table-tennis singles competition as their representatives captured the Grades A, B and C singles titles in convincing style.
The annual event was held recently at Choi Hung Road Indoor Games Hall after the league competitions.
All the seeded players from Queen's College qualified for the final round. In the boys' Grade A section, Queen's number one player Yam Tak-yiu put down the challenge of Tsoi Ngong of Hong Kong Sam Yuk Secondary School, taking the title in straight sets 21-16, 22-20.
It was an all Queen's final in the Grade B section. Leung Wing-hang needed three sets to beat teammate Ng Chak-sum to win the title. The score read 16-21, 21-15 and 21-17.
In Grade C, Queen's Lam Chi-hang easily saw off Seto Kin-man of Mong Man Wai College in straight sets, 21-19, 21-8, to win the singles crown.
The Queen's trio earlier played a dominant role in helping the school win all the Grades A, B and C league titles and Queen's thereby clinched their overall championship nine times in a row.
Diocesan Boys' School, however, performed brilliantly in the doubles competition, taking the Grade A and C titles.
