THE future plans of K. Wah chairman Lui Che-woo are founded firmly on his determination to consolidate the group's status as a wholly-owned Chinese multinational corporation.
The group may grow into a larger entity, but will remain based in Hong Kong where more than 80 per cent of its business is generated.
During the next decade, the group will seek opportunities to expand. For the moment, China beckons.
''I am very optimistic about the relationship between Hong Kong and China, but our roots will always remain in Hong Kong,'' said Mr Lui.
The decision to undertake a 20-year rehabilitation of the Anderson Quarry illustrates the group's commitment to the territory.
Discussions with the government have begun and, once the contract is signed, the scheme will improve the environment and create land for property development.
