HEEP Yunn School made a clean sweep of the grades A, B and C girls' doubles titles at the inter-school badminton competition recently held at Choi Hung Road Indoor Games Hall.

  In the Grade A section, HYS duo Hon Suet and Tong Ka-yee did not find the going tough as they easily beat their arch-rivals Hui Fung-yee and Cheung Nga-yan of Clementi Secondary School in straight sets 15-2, 15-5 to win the first gold medal.

  Wong Fung-wun and Ku Ying-hung collected the second gold for Heep Yunn as they scored a straight sets 15-9, 15-5 victory over the hard-hitting Yang Ching and Wong Yuen-yee of True Light Middle School, Hong Kong.

  In Grade C, HYS Chung Shui-ling and Ng Wai-yin kept up the good work as they comfortably defeated Chu Mun-yin and Chak Yuen-chi of St. Catherine's School for Girls in straight sets 15-6, 15-6.

  The Hong Kong regional champions (boys' and girls' sections), Clementi Secondary School failed to win any title.

  Their hopeful, So Siu-ping succumbed to Kwok Sau-man of St. Teresa Secondary School in straight sets 11-1, 11-0, in the Girls' Grade A singles final.

  In the boys' section, the La Salle competitors staged an impressive performance, taking both the Grade B singles title and the Grade A doubles title.

  La Salle's Lo Chi-hang overcame the challenge of Cheung Hin-yeung of Kiangsu-Chekiang College in straight sets 15-11, 15-10 to win the Grade B singles crown.

  In the Grade A doubles event, La Salle's Chan Tsz-kin and Lee Ho downed Clementi's pair, Lam Kin-wah and Wong Yip-kin in straight sets 15-4 and 15-10 to take the title.

  Liu Kwok-wah of Tak Yan School won the Grade A singles title after a hard-fought straight sets 15-8, 15-6 victory over Timothy Cheung of Diocesan Boys' School.
