Li can string them along
Over the years, music store Tom Lee has brought in an impressive array of big names from the heavy metal world for tutoring clinics.
After recent clinics by George Lynch of Dokken and Eric Johnson, who has collaborated with guitarists Steve Vai and Joe Satriani, comes a guitar clinic hosted by Herman Li, lead axeman with British power metal band DragonForce.
The Hong Kong-born guitarist (right) won the 'best shredder' award at the 2005 Metal Hammer Golden Gods awards and, with fellow DragonForcer Sam Totman, won four categories in Guitar World's 2007 readers' poll.
Li is known for his hyperactive, over-the-top fretwork and will be sharing some shredding tips at the July 24 clinic at Hitec in Kowloon Bay. Tickets cost HK$80 and are available from Tom Lee outlets in Causeway Bay and Sha Tin. Inquiries: 2737 7603.
