During the morning rush hour, an eight-kilometre, bumper-to-bumper queue formed along the Sha Tin-bound Tolo Highway as far as Hong Lok Yuen in Tai Po after a collision between a Mercedes-Benz and truck outside the Science Park at 7.30am.

Police said the truck toppled on to one side after the collision, injuring the driver and his two passengers. The three men were taken to Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital and Prince of Wales Hospital.

Motorists were urged to use alternative routes until the affected section of the Tolo Highway was reopened at about 9am and the vehicles were towed away.

In Choi Hung, two drivers were injured in a pile-up that involved a double-decker, minibus, taxi and three cars at the junction of Clear Water Bay Road and Ngan Ho Path at about 8.20am.
