A new book which teaches students financial management skills will be distributed to all primary and secondary schools and public libraries in Hong Kong. Wisdom on Financial Management - the 6 Basic Principles to Accumulate Wealth is published by the Healthy Budgeting Family Debt Counselling Centre of Tung Wah Group of Hospitals (TWGHs) and sponsored by Citibank. Using stories contributed by business leaders, educators, professionals and TWGHs social workers, the book illustrates six core values of financial management: aspiration, diligence, responsibility, self-improvement, self-control and generosity. In addition, TWGHs has set up the Smart Kid Financial Education Experiential Programme 2007/2008. The programme consists of three one-day camps for secondary school students. Participants wil be asked to make various decisions, such as what to spend on and invest in in a stimulated life scenario. The first camp will be held on July 14, with the two remaining camps taking place in February and April next year. Registration for this month's camp has begun. All secondary school students are eligible. Call TWGHs Healthy Budgeting Family Debt Counselling Centre on 2884 957 for more information.
