Ciara has proved herself an enduring artist as her second album, The Evolution, hit the top spot of the US Billboard 200 soon after its release. The album is full of catchy tunes that make you want to shake your booty and dance all night.
It is more than two years since Ciara released her debut Goodies which sold over two million copies in the US alone. This time, Ciara has lured a list of big-name producers and songwriters to collaborate with her. Featuring artists such as Lil' Jon and Dallas Austin, the result is an album packed with electro beats, crunk and Miami bass sounds.
Opening track That's Right starts the album off with a bang. Next up is the seductive and sexy Like A Boy. First single Promise was a weak choice as it lacks emotion and reveals Ciara's vocal weaknesses.
There are 20 tracks on the album, including spoken interludes, plus an extra DVD music video. The interludes are so distracting that you will want to skip them after you've heard them once. This album will be popular at parties and clubs but it's not powerful enough to be memorable.
