SOURCE Of Life returns six days after an impressive third-placing at Sha Tin and looks a rock solid banker for the first leg of the Double Trio at the same venue tomorrow.
The Kenny Kam-trained youngster is well placed in Class Five but the telling factor in his favour tomorrow is the step up in distance to 1,600 metres.
Two starts back he put in an eye-catching effort over the mile trip when coming from near last and was then not seen in action for well over two months.
On his reappearance last week he thundered home again from the rear of a 1,400-metre field to run third to Mehrban, narrowly failing to snatch the quinella spot from Gagne Vite.
Source Of Life wound up his preparation for tomorrow's outing with a useful piece of work yesterday morning and there seems no doubt that he will be absolutely ready for this moderate event.
Now and then there are younger horses who just seem that little bit too good for Class Five company and that does seem to be the case with Source Of Life. Given the ability shown in his last two outings, it is not unreasonable to expect Source Of Life, over a patently better trip, to finish in the first three. And that is what DT devotees are after.
