A 39-year-old driver was injured when his container truck plunged into the sea at Cha Kwo Ling Public Cargo Working Area in Kwun Tong shortly before 9am yesterday. A police spokesman said officers believed the driver had probably misjudged the distance to the waterfront. The driver freed himself from his flooded cabin and was rescued from the water by firemen. He was admitted to United Christian Hospital in stable condition. Firemen were unable to pull the truck from the water with ropes. It was later lifted out by a barge.
