RECOGNISING the counselling needs of secondary school students, the non-profit youth organisation, Hok Yau Club, will open a student hotline in March.

The hotline will give advice on matters ranging from further study or beginning a career, to exam pressures and study difficulties.

Counsellors manning the phones are being recruited.

Applicants should hold a tertiary qualification, or have completed Form Five and be aged 21 or above, and be mature and enthusiastic.

They can attend a training course after an interview. It includes the concepts, principles and skills of counselling, self-understanding and information concerning study and career. The training costs $15.

The hotline service, on number 503-3399, will commence in mid-March, and will be available between 7 pm and 9 pm, Tuesday and Friday.
