Cigarette haul worth HK$1.88m Customs officers have arrested three men and seized HK$1.88 million worth of cigarettes in Tsuen Wan. The arrests were made when cartons of cigarettes were unloaded from a cross-border truck and loaded onto a delivery van in Cheung Sha Estate. Investigations revealed that the cigarettes were smuggled into the city in the truck and the van delivered them to retail outlets. Man found comatose in bed dies A 37-year-old man died after being found unconscious at home in Kwai Chung. His mother, 74, called police after he was found unconscious in bed in his Kwai Ming House flat in Kwai Hong Court at about 9am. He was certified dead at the scene. Police said a postmortem examination would be carried out to establish the cause of the death. Commuter attacked on train Police are hunting for a man after he assaulted a commuter, 41, on board a New Territories-bound train at Fo Tan station in Sha Tin at about 12.50am. The victim was treated for facial injuries at Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital. The attacker had accused his victim of staring at him, police said. Policeman found hanging A police constable, 39, belonging to the Ma On Shan division was found hanging at a temple at Pai Tau, Sha Tin. He was confirmed dead at the scene. Police said the officer, surnamed Siu, had debt problems and had left a suicide note. Suicide suspected in fatal fall A man, 25, died after falling from a window of an industrial building on Texaco Road, Tsuen Wan at about 7.45am. Police said a suicide note was found. Couple injured in shop accident A couple sustained head injuries after a dust-filter net broke free from the ceiling and fell on them in a shop at the Peak Galleria at about 12.15pm. The man and his wife, were taken to hospital for treatment. Minibus driver hurt in collision A taxi driver was injured in a collision between his vehicle and a minibus in Yuen Long.
