When Paolo Mojo visited Hong Kong 12 months ago, he came as a DJ whose reputation was on the rise. The one-time financier arrived flushed by the backing of music industry publications IDJ and DJ, which had both named Mojo as one of their 'stars' for two years running.

Add to that the personal touches the DJ had given to the acclaimed BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix and his presence on the sold-out Fundacion world tour with Sasha, and you had a man on the brink of being one of the biggest names in the game.

Twelve months later, Mojo was asked to join the Renaissance crew on the much-anticipated Renaissance Digital.

The compilation is due for release in early September and features Mojo mixing a few of his own tracks, along with the likes of Sebo K, Repeat Repeat and Blue Foundation.

'Renaissance approached me last year to work with them on a compilation as they were fans of what I was doing,' says Mojo.

'I was very happy to get involved on this project - Renaissance Digital - which is the world's first iTunes-only mix compilation series. Mine is the first [track], so it's great to be the first one in that sense too.'

It was thanks to the Renaissance franchise that clubbers across the globe latched on to DJs Sasha and John Digweed long before they hit the road and began spreading their musical messages. Mojo, however, has toured constantly throughout a career that really only started in 2002.
