Hong Kong's pressure-cooker environment causes high levels of stress among its citizens, often leading to ill health and poor motivation. Classified Post asks Hongkongers what they think are the best ways to reduce harmful stress.

'Exercise is a good way to reduce stress. So I enjoy yoga, going to the gym and volunteering. I am part of the government's Auxiliary Medical Service team. But I also like to travel, usually Singapore, Malaysia or Thailand and if I have more time, Japan and South Korea.' Cindy Pang Sui-fong, investment management

'Exercise is a great stress-beater, so I practice yoga and dance. Jazz, pop and hip-hop are dance forms I am into. But I am not averse to going to the pub for some cocktails. I am fond of travelling too, and Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand are the destinations of choice.'

'The way to relax and reduce stress is to go surfing at Tai Long Wan in Sai Kung and Lantau. But I live on Lantau with my family, so I like to have some quality family time going for walks and to beaches. There are many outdoor activities and I am surprised when people say that there are not enough green areas around Hong Kong. If I have longer breaks, I then go on surfing trips to Bali and South Africa.' Hugh Allan, finance

'I like to watch TV, it is the best way to relax after a hard week's work. Swimming, a sauna and a Thai massage are also pleasant, but so are Friday happy hours in Wan Chai.'
