A strong leader with a keen entrepreneurial spirit who strives to make changes is wanted for a senior vice-president position at a leading regional bank. Robert Walters, in charge of the search, said applicants who had strong accounting knowledge and analytical skills with at least 12 years' experience in finance should apply. Reporting to the chief financial officer for Greater China, the candidate will be in charge of country and legal entity-level performance reporting, analyses including comparisons with competitors and management information systems. An energetic candidate with the right experience is sought to bring transformation to the company, while overseeing a growing team of more than 20 people. 'We're in a changing environment and this bank went through a few mergers, so they want people who can carry on with the changes. They want people to give the entire environment new synergy and direction,' said Levina Poon, associate director, banking division, Robert Walters. 'The challenge will be trying to change mindsets.' The incumbent needs to lead the annual budget progress, develop policies and support the Hong Kong and China Asset and Liability Committees. A person will do well in providing advice and performing ad hoc analyses for customers, which include senior management, board and audit committees and head office. The right candidate can expect to be travelling one-fifth of the time in the mainland. The bank has a leading presence in the region and is active in consumer banking, corporate and SME banking, treasury and markets, and corporate finance.
