Former model Cathy Chui Chi-kei recently gave birth to a genuine 'million-dollar baby'.
General manager of corporate communications at Henderson Land Development, Bonnie Ngan Suet-fong, confirmed that Chui had given birth to a 3.6kg baby girl on Tuesday. 'Both mother and child are in good condition and the baby girl has inherited the beautiful features of both of her parents. She is really pretty and her nose looks just like her father's,' Ngan said.
Chui, 24, was married to 36-year-old Henderson Land heir Martin Lee Ka-shing last December at a lavish wedding ceremony in Sydney. The couple (below) said that they planned to travel around the world for their honeymoon.
But they slipped back into Hong Kong shortly after the wedding and Chui promptly confirmed she was pregnant. There was speculation she would have a baby boy by caesarean section in May and her father-in-law, Lee Shau-kee, told local media that he longed for a grandson. But the rumours were proved wrong.
Ngan said that the excited father took several days off work to be with his wife as she went into labour.
It was reported that Chui stayed in a HK$48,000-a-night luxury suite at Sha Tin's Union Hospital, where singer Kay Tse On-kay gave birth to a 4kg baby boy last month.
