A fun cartoon, Keroro the Movie 2 is about frog-like invaders from outer-space fighting against underwater aliens. For those who have spent the past few years under a rock and know nothing about Keroro, Japan's most popular cartoon export, the feature film is a crash course in everything Keroro. Keroro is a sergeant in the Planet Keron Army whose mission is to invade Earth and conquer the earthlings. But the hapless creature is captured by the Hinata family and forced to work as their cleaner. Natsumi, the eldest daughter of the Hinata family, is kidnapped by a lonely male alien from the ocean. He takes her to his underwater kingdom and wants to make her the Deep Sea Princess as part of his plan to build an empire on Earth. Determined to save Natsumi and prevent the planet from transforming into a giant fish tank, Keroro and his platoon venture underwater to fight the mysterious alien. Full of slapstick humour, the cartoon is straightforward and harmless entertainment for all ages. Adult cynics who see Keroro as justifying war should pay attention to the ending where the enemies shake hands and make peace.
