High-end phonemaker Vertu held a casual cocktail party at Habitu the Pier last month to show off its latest phones and promote its store in the Ocean Terminal. The event was first class all the way, with a Ferrari on the patio, an Italian buffet, and half a million dollars worth of diamond and gold mobile phones.

The lucky few who got a first glimpse of special edition Vertu phones, such as the Ascent Ferrari 1947, commemorating the 60th anniversary of the carmaker, included Adrian Wong Meng-keong, Lane Crawford's Andrew Keith, Kathy Chiu Kam-hing, Samuel Lee Yan-poon and wife Carmen Lee Chung Ka-man, Christopher Liu Kwun-shing and wife Jacqueline Liu Chow Wai-ying, Brandon Chau Kwok-fung and Sasha Jaroschok.
