How can domestic helpers be protected from dog attacks?
As more cases emerge of domestic helpers being bitten by dogs when they are working, it is clear they need greater protection.
Different companies provide home cleaning services and it is possible to book these services through the internet. Because of this, there are no regulations regarding employers and pets. Some of these pets might attack a cleaner who has come to a flat on a cleaning assignment because the animal sees that person as a stranger.
So, regulations are needed to deal with this problem.
Anyone who has hired a cleaner can send their pet to a pet hotel or leave it temporarily with a friend. Domestic helpers also need to be given some training on first aid and how to protect themselves and deal with animals that attack them.
