Zombie Loan (TV and DVD) It's macabre and gory action in the new anime Zombie Loan, as two undead boy band member lookalikes drag Kita Michiru into the world of the occult. The original manga was created by Peach-Pit, the name used by female artist duo Sendo Banri and Ebara Shibuko. Their previous works include Dear S and Rozen Maiden. Anime production is by XEBEC whose previous works include D.N Angel, Love Hina, Martian Successor Nadesico and Shaman King. Michiru is gifted (or cursed) with the eyes of a Shinigami (Death god), which means she can see a dark ring around a person's neck when their death is imminent. The darker the ring, the closer they are to death; when it's black, they die. Michiru hates her ability, as she was unable to save her parents when she saw rings around their necks. Wearing a special pair of big glasses prevents her from seeing the rings, and she ambles through life bullied by her peers and relatives. One day at school, Michiru trips over what turns out to be a severed hand. Chika and Shito, the two most popular boys in school who are famous for being the only survivors of a bus crash, turn up. Michiru is stunned when she realises they have pitch black rings around their necks, but they seem to be alive. Instead of killing her as planned, the undead duo explain that they work as zombie bounty hunters for the Z-Loan office. They realise they can use Michiru's talent to find zombies and make their unlives easier. But what is Z-Loan? Why do Chika and Shito work for them? What will happen to our poor heroine? Hong Kong otakus will have to wait for the DVD to find out.
