What is it?
Clive Christian is a revival of a traditional perfumery that uses only precious ingredients in their most concentrated forms.
Who are the creators?
Founded by British interior designer Clive Christian in 1999 after his eldest daughter, Victoria, discovered an original 1800s bottle from the Crown Perfumery under the floorboards of a manor house. The bottle was identical to those used by the aristocracy in the 1800s and the discovery inspired Christian to revive the company, which had gone out of business in the 1980s. Drawing on the rich history and classic formulas of Crown, Christian created six exclusive fragrances.
What are they?
The Imperial Majesty collection is available in 10 limited-edition Baccarat crystal flacons, priced at HK$1.8 million each.
A five-carat brilliant-cut diamond nestles in the bottle's 18-carat-gold collar, making it one of the world's most expensive perfumes. The available fragrances are Clive Christian No1 for women, an oriental floral with a fresh blend of bergamot, lemon and cardamom and No1 for men - a lively cavalcade of bergamot, lime, cardamom, pimento and thyme. These are also available in 30ml pure perfume bottles for HK$18,500.
