Man acquitted in nude photos case

A businessman charged with blackmailing a nightclub public relations officer and threatening to post nude photos of her on the internet was acquitted yesterday. Chan Tak-kwong, 50, had pleaded not guilty in the District Court to using threats to procure an unlawful sexual act, blackmail and theft. He was accused of taking photographs of the woman nude to show to mainland officials he hoped she would entertain for payment. Deputy Judge Sham Siu-man said the woman was not a reliable witness.
