I live in a small and friendly town  where everyone knows each other.

I study history,  maths, language arts, band,  PE, art, science, and home economics at school. We have small classes,  so we get a lot of attention from the teachers and students become close friends.

On the down side, our school is  so small  that we sometimes lack funding for renovation and refurbishment. We often have to use other schools' facilities, especially for sports.  Although I envy their cleanliness and  space, I'd  rather be at my cosy school.

My first language is English. I can't speak any other language fluently, but I do know a few phrases in Spanish, French, Italian and Japanese.

I play basketball, soccer, baseball and badminton but I  hate golf. I also like  riding my bike and hanging out with my friends.   At the weekend, everyone goes to the Barn,  a place for youngsters to socialise.

Every few weeks, I have a 'movie night' with my close friends  when we make  snacks  and watch films. We also have bonfires at  friends' houses.

Like every other teenager, I read and use the computer in my free time. Some of my favourite books are The Princess Bride and Life of Pi.

Some of  my favourite bands are Keane and The Cure.

I love movies directed by Tim Burton or Wes Anderson; they are my  idols because I admire their unique approach to film directing.

I  buy my clothes from teen store Delia's. My friends say I dress differently  to them, but eccentric tastes run in my family, so everyone's used to my style. I pride myself on being unique in many respects.

I have two elder siblings and I usually get along with them - even if we do fight, no permanent damage is done! In our household, everyone has to do housework, which we call 'Sunday Work'. I am in charge of cleaning the dining room.

We visit our relatives during traditional  holidays such as Easter, Christmas and Thanksgiving.  At Halloween, we stay at home and dress up in costumes to go trick-or-treating.

Christmas is  my favourite festival because  it's so magical. We put up a  tree  and decorate it with tinsel and ornaments. I like to  believe Santa exists - it keeps me young! I hang up stockings and put out cookies, just in case he drops by.

American cuisine is extremely varied, ranging from greasy fast-food to healthy organic diets.  You just have to experiment and  decide what food suits you best.

I love meatloaf, bratwursts, mashed potatoes, green beans, and pretty much all  vegetables and fruits. I also enjoy a wide variety of cuisines such as Asian, Mexican, Italian and German food.

What I like most about America is our independence and freedom. Above all, I like it because it's home. I have never been to Hong Kong but I look forward to doing so. It seems like a beautifully busy place.  I imagine it's a bit like Chicago, with its huge skyscrapers and lights everywhere.

In the future, I  want to see more of the world and  help people in need all over the globe.
