COMPAQ Computer and Microsoft have announced a broad set of co-ordinated activities in Hong Kong that should benefit all Compaq server users.
Under the agreement, announced last week, users of Compaq's servers, Systempro, ProSignia and ProLiant, who adopt Microsoft's Windows NT and Windows NT Advanced Server as operating system, can get support through both Compaq and Microsoft's Product Support Services hotlines in Hong Kong.
Compaq and Microsoft will also provide cross-training to the technical support teams of both companies.
Recently, Compaq said Microsoft Windows NT was an ideal operating system for high-performance applications running on Compaq PCs and servers.
The company has worked closely with Microsoft on Windows NT.
Microsoft Windows NT fully optimises the client-server computing capabilities and Compaq servers with mutually supported features, such as scalability, security and fault tolerance.
