Rescuers yesterday spent hours combing the hills and forests of Shing Mun Country Park, Tsuen Wan, after a man reported that his friend had gone missing while they were hiking. The pair began their outing at about 9am, but the missing man, 54, soon began to lag behind. His friend became worried after losing sight of him and called police when he reached the dam at the Shing Mun Reservoir. Police eventually found the 'lost' hiker at his home. He told officers he had decided to turn back after losing contact with his friend.
