Amid shutterbugs and other stars, Shu Qi shows she still shines

Rumours that Shu Qi's star is dimming are obviously exaggerated. At least, it felt that way at fashion firm Fairton's opening ceremony for a display of their ware at Tsim Sha Tsui's Harbour City on Tuesday.

Even amid A-list models like Lynn Xiong Dai-lin, Ana Rivera, Lisa Selesner, Eunis Chan Ka-yung and actress Bernice Liu Pik-yee, the Taiwanese actress caused the most chaos when she arrived.

With four bodyguards in tow, when she stepped on stage, the flashbulbs just went nuts.

'Can you guys please behave and let me start the event,' MC Anna Yau Hoi-man yelled and begged for the dozen shutterbugs to get off the stage, but to no avail.

Shu Qi was there to pass a HK$100,000 cheque donated to the Hong Kong Cancer Fund for their Pink Revolution campaign. Afterward, the sexy star suggested she's now a career girl first and foremost.

'Yes, love was very important to me when I was young, but now I have a lot of people to feed and I see my career as the top priority, then it's my family and friends, and the last is love.'

Rumour has it that she is in a new relationship with singer and actor Wang Lee-hom, which she denied. 'It's strange, honestly I spend a lot of time at home these days and there isn't anyone who is chasing me right now.' That is, if you don't count the paparazzi.

The Fairton displays will be up at Harbour City's Atrium II until Tuesday.
