Education is a pillar of the development and advancement of society. As Hong Kong seeks to progress, the Hong Kong Examination and Assessment Authority is undergoing changes through examination system reforms. If you feel strongly about these changes, a leadership role as director of development and educational assessment is waiting for you. The right candidate will help shape and implement the authority's strategic plan and help foster partnerships and relationships with the government, schools and key stakeholders. The director, who must be flexible and comfortable in a politically sensitive environment, would initiate, develop and implement new assessment services and arrangements including standards, exam papers and assessment policies for the new Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education. This role calls for strength because other responsibilities include leadership and co-ordination of the educational assessment services and international and professional exam divisions, as well as contributing to the overall goals of the authority. A profound knowledge of educational assessment is a must. The candidate with highly developed interpersonal skills must have a track record of performance and achievements in senior management, especially with a public body or a large educational organisation, and must be a good communicator.
