Petrochemical manufacturer embarks on a major expansion programme, reflecting its commitment to long-term regional growth

Hong Kong is proving to be a crucial base for one of the world's top petrochemicals manufacturers as it positions itself for further growth in China and across Asia-Pacific.

Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (Sabic), which is also the world's fourth leading producer of polyolefins, has established new offices and warehouse facilities in the mainland to add to its operations in the SAR.

'Sabic firmly believes that the key to remaining competitive in Asia is to provide excellent customer service,' said Abdulrahman al-Ubaid, vice-president of the company's Polyolefins Strategic Business Unit.

'We are very excited about the future of the Asian market, especially China, and hope to be part of its success, together with the partnership of our valued customers.'

Since establishing its Hong Kong office in 1985, Sabic has continued to expand its participation in the growth of Asia's petrochemical industry with 11 offices in the region including Ho Chi Minh City, Shenzhen, Beijing, Shanghai, Taipei, Tokyo, Seoul, Manila, Jakarta and Singapore, where its regional headquarters is based.

Sabic is embarking on a major expansion programme in Asia-Pacific, especially in China - the world's largest plastics market. It has also set up a fully registered company called Sabic China.
