Asian Games champions China had to dig deep before walking away with a thrilling 4-2 win over India in their final preliminary round game at the 6th Women's Asia Cup at King's Park last night. A resilient Indian team led 2-1 at one stage and then held the tournament favourites to 2-2 at half-time. India's goals were scored by Jasjeet Kaur and Saba Anjum. But an upset never looked on the cards as China's scored two quick goals midway through the second half to seal the win. Tang Chungling scored a brace for China while the other goals came from Li Hongxia and Zhou Wanfeng. China, ranked fifth in the world, will now meet Japan in the Cup semi-finals. The Japanese went down to the fancied South Koreans, 4-1, in the other clash between the top two teams in pool B. The Koreans who also remain unbeaten will take on India in the other semi-final tomorrow. Today is a rest day. Meanwhile hosts Hong Kong will take on Thailand in the crossover classification match. The Thais had earlier lost 7-0 to Malaysia.
