Polytechnic University will next week take possession of a 60-metre-long painting featuring gory scenes of hell. The painting, by Taiwanese artist Jiang Yi-zi, will accompany a 121-volume set of Buddist works in a gift from the Pure Land Learning College Association and the Hong Kong Buddhist Education Foundation. Pure Land has donated 6,000 sets of the Qianlong Great Buddhist Canon worldwide. Association vice-president Dr Zhong Maosen said: 'We hope to be able to have a cultural presence worldwide so that everyone will be able to have access to Buddhist texts.'
