University couple to be honoured

Educators Henry Hu Hung-lick and his wife, Chung Chi-yung, founders of the city's first private university, will be conferred honorary doctorates by the Institute of Education. They are being honoured for their 'years of matchless stamina and persistence', which led the former Shue Yan College becoming a university. Dr Chung, 86, founded the college in 1971 with Dr Hu, also 86, a barrister and former legislator. The Executive Council upgraded the school to university status at the end of last year.
