Beating your BlackBerry addiction just got harder. Research In Motion has released the BlackBerry 8820, its first dual-mode smartphone that combines cellular network support with Wi-fi connectivity. That means you'll keep those thumbs busy writing e-mail messages even outside areas with network coverage by hooking up with Wi-fi at home, corporate campuses and hotspots in airports or coffee shops. When your digits need a rest, it can play video in full-screen mode. The BlackBerry 8820 costs about HK$4,300 but is available for less when bought with a subscription plan from CSL, 3 Hong Kong, SmarTone-Vodafone or PCCW Mobile.
