Seven years ago, Rochelle Le Pine arrived in Hong Kong and started shopping for a bed. When she discovered nothing suited, in terms of style and support, she turned to New Zealand's Design Mobel, whose Bodyfit Sleep System tailors beds and accessories to customers' requirements - determined from information about their favoured sleeping position, shoulder width and height, among other factors. Now Le Pine has opened a shop, Okooko (Design Mobel's rebranded identity for the international market and a Maori verb meaning 'to cradle'), offering the same 'personalised sleep system'. According to Le Pine, Pause (above; HK$30,000 to HK$33,000), made of New Zealand Rimu with aluminium detailing, is the shop's most popular bed, in part because it features shelves that accommodate an iPod universal dock and a Bose speaker system. Okooko is at 27/F, Horizon Plaza, 2 Lee Wing Street, Ap Lei Chau, tel: 2870 1132.
