Convoy Sun Hei face an impossible task to make up the loss after they were defeated by Al Wihdat of Jordan 1-0 in the first leg of the AFC Cup quarter-finals at Mong Kok Stadium last night. Ahmad Alzugheir scored the only goal of the night when the Middle East team were in total control. The midfielder slotted home from the left with seven minutes left to silence the 1,200 home crowd. 'The return leg in the following week will be more difficult,' said Sun Hei coach Khoo Luam Kuen. 'In fact, there is little hopes that we can come from behind to win now. We are playing at different level. They are quick and skilful. I would say our league standard lags far behind of our Asian counterparts, and when we play at regional level, our inadequacies are exposed. The visitors were simply the better side.' Sun Hei had improved from their last home league match when they were held 0-0 by Eastern, but their effort was hardly good enough to match the visitors. They relied on goalkeeper Chan Ka-ki to make a number of acrobatic saves to stop Al Wihdat, and Sun Hei defenders Lee Wai-lun and Chung Kin-hei had to clear the ball from the line on two different occasions. The home team had a clear-cut chance in stoppage time when striker Giovane da Silva, who was clear on the left, made a powerful shot which was blocked by the goalkeeper. The Brazilian striker also had a free-kick from the top of the box sail just over the crossbar in the 63rd minute.
