One of the first models to support widescreen high definition (HD), Sanyo's Xacti HD1000 is also the smallest on the market.
Unlike other HD models, which have only 1440 x 1080 pixel resolution, the HD1000, along with JVC's GZ-HD7, are the only two consumer models on sale that have full HD at 1920 x 1080 pixels (widescreen).
Despite its diminutive size, it features a powerful image capture processor, which not only offers HD, but at 60 frames per second, offers double the frame rate of most standard videos.
Other impressive features include its 10x optical zoom lens, which gives the HD1000 a bit more bulk than previous models, but certainly more access.
The lens has also been upgraded with a maximum aperture of F1.8 - the lower the lens' aperture, the wider the exposure opening of the lens, and the less light it requires to yield quality images.
The HD1000 also supports a wide ISO range of 50-3200, which allows you to adjust the light sensitivity of the camera to suit different lighting conditions.
