Motorcyclist killed, another injured, in separate accidents

A motorcyclist was killed when he crashed his machine in Sai Sha Road, Ma On Shan, on the way to work at Sai Kung Swimming Pool, where he was a senior technician. Chan Shek-lui, 53, was found unconscious in a pool of blood about 20 metres from his motorbike. Police appealed to witnesses to contact them on 36611300. Another motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries when he crashed in Tsuen Wan. Sung Yun-keung, 27, was found lying beside his machine near the Kong Nam Industrial Building in Castle Peak Road at 6am. Last night he was in critical condition in hospital.

Girl, 17, arrested with heroin

Police arrested a 17-year-old girl and seized heroin worth HK$100,000 from her Tai Po home following a tip-off. The suspect was nabbed as she left Kwong Ping House on the Kwong Fuk Estate at 2am. She was carrying a small quantity of heroin and more was found in her flat in the building. She was still being questioned last night.

Mainlander held for suitcase theft

Police arrested a mainland man for stealing a suitcase from a woman in the China Hong Kong City shopping centre in Canton Road, Tsim Sha Tsui. The bag was recovered. The suspect, 35, was still being questioned last night.
