The tigers are back. Four of the so-called 1980s 'Five Tigers of TVB' have reunited for the upcoming film Brothers.

Michael Miu Kiu-wai, one of the lead actors, said: 'I haven't had lead roles in films for quite some time, I'm only doing this because of [Andy] Lau Tak-wah.'

Miu was named one of the 'Five Tigers' along with the station's four young stars - Ken Tong Chun-yip, Felix Wong Yat-wah, Tony Leung Chiu-wai and Lau. Apart from Leung, all four feature in the new film.

Miu shifted from acting to business in the late 80s, founding the Optical Centre in 1987, which he has since sold to Lens Crafter. In 1990, he married actress Jamie Chik Mei-chun and the couple now have two children. He returned to acting in 2005 for the TVB drama series, The Academy, starring alongside Fiona Sit Hoi-kei and Ron Ng Cheuk-hei, and has since appeared in at least nine shows for the channel.

Miu was approached by Lau, who suggested they make a film about brotherhood and friendship, and Lau became the main investor in the project. 'Thanks to 'Wah Chai' [Lau's nickname], the four of us can finally be reunited and make the film we've longed for,' Miu said.

Friendship seemed more important to Miu than everything else, including the box office.
