She might have felt down after closing her Yugamama eatery early this year, but spunky businesswoman Judy Hong Yu Chu-dic is definitely not out. Just off the plane from a sourcing trip to the London and Paris fashion weeks, she went straight to Harbour City to promote 2FT, her new shoe shop. 'When I decided to close Yugamama in January I was quite sad,' Ms Hong said. 'Then I had to go to Paris and I happened to find this interesting label called Pataugas. When I came back I saw the French consul general's wife wearing it too. I then picked up a couple of other brands, including Posture Foundation Flyers (PF-Flyers) from Boston and started the store to sell them here.' Word of mouth on her new posture-improving and comfy shoes hasn't quite spread, so to drum up interest she invited a head-spinning breakdance group from Korea to perform at the mall on Monday (pictured with Hong). Now, the irrepressible Ms Hong - known for her white, thick-framed glasses - might become famous for shoes as well. 'After Yugamama, I debated whether to open something new or rest for a while, but I thought let's do it. I kind of want to bring back Yugamama in a different way. 'That was a family restaurant and this shop offers shoes for the whole family. The green colour scheme is similar too.'
