The food safety authority warned people against drinking a batch of French wine after receiving an alert that it could contain glass fragments. The Centre for Food Safety advised people not to drink 2006- vintage JP Chenet Cabernet-Syrah du Pays d'Oc red wine sold in quarter-litre bottles with the lot number L70927203 and bar code number 3263286324216. It also appealed to liquor traders to stop selling the wine. A centre spokesman said the warning came after Swiss authorities alerted consumers about possible glass fragments in the wine. A spokeswoman for supermarket chains Taste and ParknShop, who also represents Watson's Wine Cellar, said they had no stocks of the batch. She said JP Chenet told them the batch had not been exported to Hong Kong. But she added Taste stores were selling other wines from the company. Taste stores withdrew all the company's products on Wednesday but resumed selling them yesterday after confirming they were not affected, the spokeswoman said. Supermarket chain Wellcome said it had not been selling any of the company's products.
