Hong Kong University confers three doctorates on science, business, arts leaders
Hong Kong University of Science and Technology is to award honorary doctorates to three social leaders. Louis Cha Leung-yung, an influential martial arts writer and co-founder of Ming Pao, is to be conferred Doctor of Letters; William Mong Man-wai, chairman of Shun Hing Group, will be made Doctor of Business Administration; and Karl Barry Sharpless, a 2001 Nobel Laureate in Chemistry, will be made Doctor of Science.
CityU students acknowledged leaders
Five CityU business students claimed three out of four awards in the Young Leadership Development Programme organised by the Aviation Insurance Association Foundation this year. The programme has trained more than 300 university students since 1996, aimed at developing problem-solving, strategic thinking and team-building abilities.
HKUST signs mutual co-operation deal
The University of Science and Technology has signed a five-year agreement with Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics to develop mutual co-operation and academic ties, including student exchanges and joint projects.
