It seems the folks at Dickson Concepts retail group really like the Italians. A week after throwing a cocktail party at Harvey Nichols for the kick-off of an Italian Trade Commission promotion, they moved the party over to their other department store, Seibu in Pacific Place, last Thursday for a similar Roman romance with exhibitions, sales and the dolce vita. This time they even invited entertainer Karen Mok Man-wai (pictured) - plus Michael Wong Man-tak and Shirley Cheung Yuk-shan - and handed her a token prize for being an Italian fashion icon. What does that means? We have no idea, but Mok, who studied in Italy for a while when she was 17, suggested she learned more than just fashion and style during her stay. The singer also claims to be a maestro in making tiramisu, thanks to her Roman classmates. 'I also have a dream,' the singer said. 'I want to open a vineyard in Florence when I retire and make my own wine. There, when I have time, I can ride a horse. But I am such a workaholic that I guess I can never leave my career behind.' That's why some of us just settle for a nice pizza every so often. The two-part exhibition of the latest Italian styles continues until tomorrow, while a display of couture collections from Italian fashion giant Moschino is at Pacific Place until Sunday.
