Colour chart In contrast to the trend for muted makeup is a theme injected with colour. Laura Mercier introduces a Blue Sky quad of colour for the eyes with hues ranging from pale blue, shot with white pearl and peacock blue, to cobalt and near black. The Yves Saint Laurent collection of navy blues and mauves is perfect for creating smoky looks. Products include the Night Blue and Stormy Mauve eye shadow compact, as well as one featuring two greens. Mascaras come in alternatives to black, including burgundy. The new Jemma Kidd midnight jewels collection includes cream eye shadows in green, blue and topaz, plus some bold eye liners in the Define range, with colours including electric blue, peacock, and kingfisher green. And for those that like a bit of sparkle, there are glittery gel liners in three colours, including purple quartz. The Mac Antiquitease collection plays with rich colours for winter. Duo eye shadows include Earthly Riches, a deep plum and dirty grey infused with pink frosting. Others include a two-tone blue-white fusion, as well as a blood red and rich purple mix. Lip shades are also daring - yellow gold, deep plum, and copper with red pearl. The colours of Istanbul provided the inspiration for the new Mary Quant collection. Eye shadows range from deep blues shot with blue and green pearls; orange shot with bronze and gold, and dark, deep pinks. Nail polishes take on a bold path with yellow gold among this season's three new shades.
