This job is for someone passionate about housing issues for the elderly and is motivated and creative about centre developments. The Hong Kong Housing Society needs a manager for its elderly resource centre - one of many new initiatives to promote the well-being of the elderly by providing advice and consultation to help meet changing housing needs brought on by ageing. The job essentially entails effective management of the centre including its manpower and finance, which means regularly reviewing daily operations and proposing development and improvement plans. The manager must have relevant post-graduate training in health care or related disciplines and good connections with service providers and stakeholders in health care and the elderly service sector. Duties would include promotion through media and other activities, exploring and developing joint opportunities with elderly service providers and maintaining positive and collaborative relationships with service users, the government, service providers and research institutes globally. Candidates should have more than eight years of experience in elderly services organisations with five years at managerial level. The person must also have excellent knowledge and practical experience in elderly housing issues related to housing design, environmental modifications, promotion of health and well-being. The candidate must also be experienced and interested in research to spearhead teams to undertake research in residential care and gerontology. English and Putonghua are a must.
