More companies are looking at the way they design things from an environmentally conscious way, especially electrical and electronic products, but it does not stop there.
ERG Group managing director Edmond Yuen  Chuk-leung and Health'N Organic Square director CoCo Sze Wai-ling  think about the eco-footprint behind the products they offer.
Mr Yuen said: 'Our company is the pioneer in energy-saving lighting technology.' He is keen to get a bigger slice of the China market.
'Our products have proven to be innovative and sell well, so it is our objective to raise the profile of our products and [show] how we can help improve the environment.'
Mr Yuen said the company's light bulbs provided illumination but consumed less energy than conventional  bulbs.
'The more people who use our products, the more electricity will be saved, improving environments worldwide. Individuals and governments will save money and improve their environment.
'Using energy-saving lighting technology will lead to reduced gas emission and global warming, which every person should be responsible for.'
ERG's lighting saves more than 40 per cent of electrical energy. If a city was fitted out with ERG lighting it would use 10 to 20 per cent less fuel in generating the required electricity.
'This will reduce gas emissions (meaning more blue sky) and reduce global warming,' he said.
'At the ECO Expo, we want to promote product awareness and ensure that lighting designers, distributors, wholesalers, financial institutions, professionals and governments realise the benefits of these products. We are looking to form business partnerships with distributors worldwide.'
Ms Sze at Health'N Organic Square, which makes organic bags, sees the expo as a means to promote her organic products and biodegradable bags.
'Everyone needs to get used to the organic style and the ultimate  vision of sustainable consumption, with all products in complete harmony with nature,' Ms Sze said. 'The main products we will promote at the show are organic cotton reusable bags.'
Reusable fashionable shopping bags are becoming a must-have in Hong Kong. 'We want to bring to the market any eco-friendly product that will change perceptions or reduce our consumption of limited resources and move our thinking towards a sustainable, fair and healthy future,' she said. 'In the world of big business it is important to have corporate social responsibility.'
Ms Sze's theory is that business can do well while benefiting the environment and people.
Her company's reusable bags can be made into traditional and trendy designs and used as corporate gifts, promotional items, shopping bags and wine bottle carriers.
'The most important thing is these bags are biodegradable and exceptionally durable.'
There are also other products such as clothing made of natural fabrics like 100 per cent organic cotton, natural cotton, jute and hemp.
Ms Sze sees the fair as a platform for companies to make the public more aware of their products.
It will also give the public a deeper understanding of the importance of environmental sustainability and availability of environmentally-friendly products for them to support a green world.
Mr Yuen said the fair was an ideal way of promoting inventive and new products in a cost-effective way.
'Visitors get a chance to see products and it is a venue to meet, discuss and finalise business opportunities with business partners.'
