Robin Singh is glad to be back in Hong Kong - away from the high pressures of the game back home in India.
'I badly needed a break. We have been playing a lot of cricket and this tournament gave me the perfect opportunity to get away for a bit from home,' smiled Singh.
But it is still a homecoming of sorts for Singh. He formerly coached the Hong Kong senior side, before taking on the more challenging responsibilities as fielding coach of India's test and one-day team late last year.
'The fielding has improved a lot but there is still a long way to go,' said Singh, who was instrumental in lifting this department of the Indian game as they triumphed at the recent ICC Twenty20 world championship in South Africa.
With the country's cricketing establishment still undecided over whether the team need a head coach - or to let guys like Singh and Venkatesh Prasad handle the fielding and bowling departments respectively - the question was posed at Singh whether he had set his sights on the plum position.
'I don't like to answer that. We cannot talk about that,' stonewalled Singh. 'At the moment we are all coaches, but with regard to the main position, I can't say anything.
