Anson Chan Fang On-sang is proud to be Chinese. Yes, she is - she even did a cameo in a new music video for singer Scott Hui's I'm Proud To Be Chinese, mouthing the words. The hip hop track, originally written by former EMI Music honcho Hans Ebert, is both patriotic and funny.

'Yes, that's Anson Chan, not the other look-alike actress,' said Patty Keung, who directed the video, available on YouTube.com. 'Featuring Anson was incidental. I bumped into her handing out flyers [for her by-election campaign] when I was shooting at Times Square for my special effects. It suddenly crossed my mind then that it would be nice to have Anson sing along to the chorus and I took a chance to ask her and she agreed!

'If I had bumped into Tung Chee-hwa, Donald Tsang, or Regina Ip, I would also have attempted to get them to sing along to this song because, regardless of different viewpoints, so long as we are Chinese, I think we should be proud to be so ... I am.'

Mrs Chan is very amusing in the video - her performance might even swing some votes on election day.
