An Austrian orchestra will perform on instruments made of fresh vegetables in a Christmas concert in Hong Kong for the first time. Using carrot flutes, pumpkin basses, leek violins, eggplant clappers, cucumberophones, celery bongos and numerous other 'vegetable instruments', the Vienna Vegetable Orchestra will present all kinds of music, including electronic and jazz. The instruments are made before each performance and will be cooked in a soup afterwards. The orchestra, set up in 1998, will hold three concerts and a workshop starting from December 25.
