A BAMBOO bridge was erected between two 44-storey residential blocks in Tuen Mun yesterday to allow investigators into the upper floors of one of the building rocked by a massive gas explosion on Monday.
The blast on the 41st floor, which left one person dead and eight injured, put the building's three lifts out of action, and shattered the windows of 50 adjacent flats.
The manager of the Sun Tuen Mun Centre, Willy Cheung Hok-chau, said the bridge would be demolished when the lifts were repaired.
Yesterday, many workers had to take the route to clean up the debris and conduct repairs.
One cleaning worker, Yuen Kan-on, 25, said: ''Although I was a little bit afraid of the height, I had no choice because it was my work.'' Meanwhile, the condition of a three-month-old baby girl injured in the explosion yesterday improved to satisfactory.
Her father, Ting Yeung-ho, 35, said Ting Hung suffered cuts above her right eye. He believed his daughter would soon be discharged from Tuen Mun Hospital.
